BCS?

tcu_football_iphone_wallpaper.jpgHey sports fans, sports guy here. Well the BCS powers to be got it wrong again. First of all, there are way to many college bowl games. It has diluted the meaning of playing in a bowl game after the college season.

Now all a team has to do to qualify (or to become bowl eligible) as the powers to be like to say is win at least six games. I have no problem with the BCS championship game between Alabama and Texas, although I believe both Alabama and Florida would beat Texas.

Where I have a problem with the BCS is the other matchups with the top ranked teams. The one that stands out to me is the matchup between Boise State and TCU; both are undefeated and represent lesser conferences.

Both of these teams should be matched against teams from the so called power conferences such as Big ten, SEC, PAC ten, Big twelve rather than having two lesser conference teams battle each other, especially when I believe both of these teams could very well beat some of the powers from the more powerful conferences. There needs to be a playoff system, which would be integrated into the bowl games. A twelve team round robin tournament would go a long way in resolving the national college championship.
