Man of the Month...
Each week we will nominate a man of particular distinction to be featured as the Mancard.com Man of the Week. To qualify for this honor, he must personify and showcase what we would consider to be a manly behavior, accomplishment, or quality of character. Yes, this gives us a pretty wide population to choose from - but everything is up for debate.
This one is easy. With all of the distractions: Phil had to be saying, "It is the most prestigious tournament in golf, Tiger is back competing for the first time in over seven months, and to top it all off the mother of my children has breast cancer."
The only thing I can say is unbelievable poise and concentration.
Big Phil wins the most prestigious tournament in all of golf. What a class act as he closes out the final day and posts a -16 score, hitting back to back eagle shots joining a few other big name golfers in the history books at Augusta, he hugs his wife. Nicely done Big Phil!
If you watched the Masters there is no way that you can not say that, the person who played the best won the Masters. When the ball jumped over the pollen and went way off course, he had to have thought what the hell? But never lost his concentration to win the tournament. He got aggressive after Amen Corner and ended the final day at -16. Winning by three strokes is rather convincing, I would say.
With this being the golf Super Bowl, with all the Hype about Tiger, with the mother of his children battling breast cancer: He rises above all of it an wins the Green Jacket. Nice job Big Phil. Welcome to the Mancard.com hall of fame. This beer is for you.
